Configuration : SNMP


Configure the appropriate community settings here. Up to 10 types of community names can be registered.

Community Name:
Input the name of the community to which the Network Interface Board belongs. If the community name is different from that of the hosts, requests from the hosts will not be accepted.
Use 1 to 15 characters in the community name.

Access Type:
Select the access rights to the community from those listed in the drop-down menu.

Protocol:
Select the protocol from those listed in the drop-down menu. [Manager IP Address] is enabled when TCP/IP is selected. [Manager IPX Address] is enabled when IPX/SPX is selected.

Manager IP Address:
Input the IP Address of the host computer.
If you set the Access Type to "read-only" or "read-write", only requests from hosts with this IP address are accepted. Set the address to "0.0.0.0" to have it accept requests from any host.
If you set the Access Type to "trap", input the IP address of the host to which the information is sent.

Manager IPX Address:
Input the IPX Address of the host computer. The IPX address is made up of the network number and the MAC address. In the left box, input the number of the network to which the host is attached. In the right box, input the MAC address of the Network Interface Board that is attached to the host.
If you set the Access Type to "read-only" or "read-write", only requests from hosts with this IPX address are accepted. Set the MAC address to "000000000000" to have it accept requests from any host.
If you set the Access Type to "trap", input the IPX address of the host to which the information is sent.
